This is the antenna for working UHF such as FRS channels on a dual band radio or the TC-568. This 7" antenna exhibits a signficant performance gain over the stock antennas and can extend range up to 4x as shown in our field testing contained in videos in our Youtube channel.
Q: Can this antenna take a UHF counterpoise?
A: Yes (if the base is SMA-M or SMA-F), because it is 1/4 wave, we see perfomance increases when use with counterpoise, as demonstrated in many of the videos in our 'Radios' and 'Antennas' playlists on Youtube.
