This hand held is built on the same chassis and has the same form factor as the 'A' model. That also means it has the same core operational specifications, and uses the same batteries and accessories. It has the following noteworthy capabilities:
- 5 watts on VHF, and 4 on UHF
- 2.5 kHz stepping, and squelch break on CTCSS tone, which facilitates using as a backup receiver for collar telemetry applications.
- Cross-band repeater function allows it to be used for repeater or relay station builds.
- Full Duplex (Receives two signals at the same time or Transmit and Receive at the same time)
- Can transmit on the 'B' band, while the A band runs independant
- Randomize operating frequencies for protection from third party scanner evesdropping
- AM Aircraft Band - Receive Only 118 - 136 MHz
- Shortwave Band - Receive Only 2.3 - 30 MHz
