Using Butane Canisters from Asian Markets

You may already own one of those very affordable and convenient stoves that the Asian markets sell. The butane canisters they sell for those contain n-Butane, and cost a fraction of what the camping stores sell the camping stove canisters for. N-Butane works fine until the temperatures drop below freezing so it is a suitable 3 season mix. For cooking in winter, you then want to start to make up your own 'winter blend' which is a ratio of propane/butane, and use it with a stove that has a preheat tube so it can be fed liquid fuel from an inverted canister. Winter mix is a topic dealt with on another page.
